The Writer’s Block: A(nother) Video Q&A With Patricia Smith

In June 2014, Patricia Smith came to City of Asylum Pittsburgh with Cave Canem, an African American poetry organization founded by Toi Derricotte and Cornelius Eady in 1996.

Patricia Smith was one of three readers at this year’s Cave Canem reading, held at City of Asylum/Pittsburgh. She has published six poetry collections, including Blood Dazzler, a finalist for the 2008 National Book Award. She has served as a faculty member for Cave Canem and teaches at City University of New York/College of Staten Island and the University of Southern Maine.
