A (Micro) Interview with Pascal Rambert

French director Pascal Rambert discusses the process of creating and directing A (micro) history of world economics, danced. City of Asylum‘s Pittsburgh presentation of the performance occurred on June 5 and 6. This interview took place on May 26, 2015, at the beginning of a series of workshops with members of the Pittsburgh community.

A (micro) history of world economics, danced has been performed in Paris, Tokyo, New York, Los Angeles, and Cairo. Each performance is recreated in each location, using approximately 50 participants from the community. In Pittsburgh, the production involved members of the disability community: people with disabilities, their friends, family members, caregivers, and other advocates.

Pascal Rambert is the artistic director for the Théâtre de Gennevilliers, a national center for contemporary performance located near Paris, France. In 2012, his “Love’s End” won the “Best New Play” award from the French Drama Critics’ Association.
