Cornelius Eady is a poet and co-founder of Cave Canem. He is the author of eight books of poetry and a finalist for the National Book Award, as well as a contributor to Sampsonia Way.

In September we asked Eady to send us some unpublished poems and he generously sent us six. Today we present three more: “Don’t Bum Out The Musicians,” “Toi,” and “My Niece Marie Explains Her Michael Jackson Project.”

Accompanying the poems is Eady’s exclusive song “Coltrane’s House,” a collaboration with songwriter Bernie Heveron featuring Joy Harjo on saxophone.
