Pool
by Liane Ellison Norman / December 17, 2010 / No comments
I’m swimming laps,
water around me silver
as meteor showers
in a dark night.
My arms draw strong
against water’s pull.
I am a foreign body
breaking the surface,
slicing along, head
flicking to the side
for breath and the water
lets me slide through
its cool mystery.
When I’m out, dazed
a little, it will settle back
like secret blue silk.
